Our Mission

Founded by First Responders, for First Responders

Solidarity to support the Men and Women who wear the uniform of this community.

Founded by first responders for first responders. Our programs provide the ongoing support needed to assist in these challenging times on the frontline.

Our member's work tirelessly to fundraise, donate time, services and provide mental health and wellness care.

Serving the Mental Health Needs of First Responders

For many of our first responders, performing their duties can be extremely taxing on their mental health. These heroes ensure that we all live safe and sound, and at Hearts 4 Heroes USA, we believe that it’s time for the rest of us to give back to the people in uniform who serve our communities.

About Our Organization

We are a nonprofit that strives to provide firefighters, EMTs, EMS professionals, police officers, and Marines nationwide with the care and support they deserve.

Our organization was founded by firefighters and emergency medical services (EMS) members. We work with passionate people who want to help first responders and service members — including Marines — by supporting them with their mental health needs.

Our flagship program, the Paw Platoon Placement Program, places specially trained therapy dogs with first responder agencies to provide comfort, connection, and emotional support to those serving on the front lines. Through these partnerships, our Paw Platoon dogs become an ongoing part of their departments, helping support the mental health and well-being of first responders when they need it most.

The Issues Plaguing Our Brave Heroes

Rates of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) among first responders are at the highest it has been in decades. Coupled with a rise of critical incidents, these brave heroes are working through compassion fatigue at all levels to keep us safe.

This results in us losing our heroes to overwhelming conditions and horrific events.

How We Can Help

Over the past five years, we have been working hard behind the scenes with national and local groups to bring awareness to this issue. We work with PIOs, chiefs, captains, and crisis development division teams across our communities to improve the stress management and wellness of our heroes.
